The goal for this project was to create a website for an existing product on Kikstarter. The Wind Catcher is a light, portable windmill made out of recycled materials that you can set up in 15 minutes. The Kikstarter had a mountain of information, mostly technical jargon, so what to include and what to emphasize became essential to continue.
The UX of the site is the crux of the design process. Because the brand had no existing site, the site map was created from the ground up.
Playing off the product being a green energy solution, coupled with being made out of recycled materials, I sketched out a UI system that felt natural, clean, with flowing elements that were reminiscent of wind.
This is the longest part of the process. I custom-coded the main and interior page to be responsive, working on desktop, tablet, and mobile. In addition, I coded the site to load different resolution images based on the display size.
Wind Catcher main page is clean, dynamic and has a nice flow of information. In addition to HTML & CSS, I incorporated JavaScript as well to create a unique slider for the features section of the main page to make the site more interactive for the user.
